BlackBerry PlayBook
Here you pair your PlayBook up with a phone running BlackBerry OS 5 or 6, which must itself be running the Bridge app. Here you pair your PlayBook up with a phone running BlackBerry OS 5 or 6, which must itself be running the Bridge app. Right now, the BlackBerry PlayBook is a tablet that will come close to satisfying those users who gravitate toward the first word in its name: BlackBerry. Like the Motorola Xoom 10-inch tablet, the Playbook does not have physical buttons on the front, the user interface is entirely digital and accessible from the capacitive touch-screen. The Playbook’s screen is my favorite tablet display, along with the iPad 2. The overall look of the Playbook OS is really elegant. The OS is QNX and the hardware is, of course, the BlackBerry PlayBook. The OS is QNX and the hardware is, of course, the BlackBerry PlayBook. Install that and the PlayBook shows up as a network drive. There is no native email, calendar and contacts apps in the Playbook. It is hard to understand why RIM does not offer Exchange support in the Playbook for non-BlackBerry users. Once you buy an HDMI cable, it is easy to connect the PlayBook to your TV screen and watch HD video stored in the device or YouTube video streamed over WiFi. The same video plays perfectly fine on the Playbook when the HDMI cable is unplugged. Unlike Android devices, the Playbook does not support USB mass storage, which turns any devices into a USB drive. To mount the Playbook as a regular disk drive on your computer, you need to install the BlackBerry Desktop Software first (Playbook driver included).
BlackBerry Torch
A fluid all-touch display plus slide-out QWERTY keyboard provides an incredible multimedia experience, while never compromising efficient typing with the classic BlackBerry keyboard. Thanks to a 1.2GHz processor on the BlackBerry® Torch™ 9810, you can experience browsing, socializing and gaming at blazing fast speeds.
Experience more fluid animations, instant response times and stunning graphics on your BlackBerry Torch 9810 touch screen. Get the next-generation BlackBerry OS software on the BlackBerry Torch 9810. The BlackBerry® 7 browser supports HTML5 video and provides a seamless loading, scrolling and zooming experience that's super fast.
Augmented reality on the BlackBerry Torch 9810 is enabled with the digital compass and accelerometer. RIM’s BlackBerry Torch 9850 is the company’s third smartphone to launch with a full touchscreen form factor, following the original Storm and the Storm 2, and it’s the first to launch on Sprint. After spending a week with the Torch 9850 and the Bold 9930 side by side, I’ve found myself gravitating to the Bold 9930. I like the new Torch hardware, but there’s too much plastic in comparison to the brushed metal RIM used on the Bold 9930.
RIM created the Torch 9850 to go toe-to-toe with the dozens of full touchscreen smartphones on the market that run iOS, Windows Phone and Android. Unfortunately, because BlackBerry OS 7 is so far behind the pack, the Torch 9850 simply can’t compete.

Nokia E7
Nokia E7 - 3G Network HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100
Nokia E7 basically invented the QWERTY business phone with its Communicator Series way back in 1996. Fast forward fifteen years, and we now have the anodized aluminum chassis of the Nokia E7 waving at us, claiming to be an honorable heir of Nokia's enterprise series phones with physical keyboards. The Nokia E7 is essentially a longer and wider version of the Nokia N8, but manages to pack on a landscape keyboard to its 0.54” (13.6mm) sleek anodized aluminum casing. Furthermore, you can find the Nokia E7 in a variety of colors, from silver to flashy orange.
The weight is actually quite decent for a handset with a large screen, physical keyboard, and a metal shell. What's equally impressive about the E7 versus other Nokia smartphones is that it sizes up with an ample 4” AMOLED ClearBlack Display with 360 x 640 resolution, and support for 16.7 million colors. Apple iPhone 4
Apple iPhone 4 / 3G Network HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100
Apple's fourth-generation iPhone has finally arrived in Australia. When Apple released the iPhone 3GS it upgraded the handset's internal components but retained the design of the iPhone 3G. We recommend using a protective case with the iPhone 4.
The iPhone 4 records 720p HD video with its rear camera and can also record standard-definition video using the front camera. The iPhone 4 runs Apple's iOS4 operating system, and if you've used an older iPhone that runs this version of the OS the experience will be familiar. The iPhone 4 has been released in Australia despite well-documented antenna issues. Does the antenna issue also affect Australian iPhone 4s? If you're happy with the way your current iPhone operates and you like Apple's user interface, then the iPhone 4 is an excellent upgrade. Despite antenna issues, Apple's iPhone 4 is definitely the best iPhone yet. The previous iPhone had a great display, but the new iPhone 4′s retina display is just plain gorgeous. The iPhone remains my favorite finger friendly display.
The iPhone still does great with macro shots. Call-wise, I don’t really notice anything different than my iPhone 3GS. Call volume is fine. I don’t blame the iPhone for this though. Multitasking is a feature that iPhone users have been begging for since the original iPhone was first released 3 years ago.
